Jody Hewgill

Jody Hewgill is an Illustrator who is a native from Montreal, Quebec. She moved to Toronto to study at the Ontario College of Art. She has been illustrating since 1988, and she is a recipient of many awards including, "American Illustration, Communication Arts Magazine, and Print Magazine." The above screenshots is of her website. Both the home page and the about page. I like Jody Hewgill's work because it shows a lot of personality and it shows what she feels to certain things in art. Dirk Barnett and Fredrik Broden

This week, I researched two people in the Design business. They are Dirk Barnett and Fredrik Broden. They are both are employees for "Worth Designs." Dirk Barnett is the designer of the two, and Fredrik Broden is his photographer. What I like about both of these guys is that they both work as a team to make their designs and photos successful. David Lerch

David Lerch according to the "PRINT magazine" is a very popular designer in the Dallas, Texas area who designs many logos for different companies. I really like the way he has designed them, because they add personality, and they offer a different perspective in the life of a designer. Black and White Photography: Virtually Grey-Robert Boynton

I thought this was a pretty neat website to look at because it reminds me (kind of) of the website that I am doing for my project 2...(mainly with color scheme). This website is titled, "Virtually Grey" and it is a photographer's website. His name is, Stephen J. Gledhill. He is a photographer that has been taking pictures for 37 years, "mainly pictures that are black and white." What I like about this website is that, being a photographer, and taking pictures...I love black and white photos....they seem to stand out better and it always seems like it captures the moment better, and it stands out to me. Looking his pictures on his website is very inspiring and he does a good job capturing the life that happens around us. Inspired Designer: Richard Boynton

Richard Boynton was one of the co-founders of Wink Designs in Minneapolis, MN. "Wink aspires to impact commerce, as well as culture by creating, reasonating relationships between people and products. I like Richard Boynton's work because in the example in the Communication Arts Magazine, he does posters for the TCM channel and he uses old time movies, for example Audrey Hepburn. This designer I think is similar to this "Black and White:Virtually Grey" photography site because it shows the like in the older days, black and white photography is very popular, and a lot of people use it. It makes me appreciate how people lived back in the old days where black and white photography was very popular.

The New Yorker: Typographic Website-Marie Lessard

I was looking up Typography websites, when I happened to stumble across this site. The "New Yorker" is a very popular magazine that has a lot of interesting typefaces that it uses. It doesn't really tell who designed the website, but I can tell that it took a lot of time and effort to accomplish. I took a screen shot of the website, and the image above is one of their artistic designs. There were a lot of "New Yorker Magazine pictures in the, "print" magazine, this included. Inspired by Illustrator: Marie Lessard

Marie Lessard is an Illustrator that is a "Quebec City-based" she studied graphic design, illustration, and print-making at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Her work has also been published in The New York Times, Communication Arts Magazine, American Illustration, The Society of Illustrators’Annual, Applied Arts Magazine, Canadian Business, among others. I like her work because it is inspiring, and I like that she is a very popular Illustrator. Her work is similar to the "New Yorker Magazine" because her work is shown in those magazines, and she has done a lot of "print-work" for these magazines.
